Ozone Issues basics!

Ozone layer is found in two layers on earth's surface. Most ozone layer ( 90%) resides in a layer that begins between 10 - 17 km of earth's surface extended up to 50 km. This region is called Stratosphere. Remaining layer of ozone is in the lower layer i.e. Troposphere.

Ozone found in both the layers are chemically identical with three oxygen atoms but they have different effects on Humans and other living creatures.

Stratospheric zone plays a beneficial role by absorbing most of the biologically damaging ultra violet sun rays and allowing a little amount to reach Earth's surface.

The harmful ultra violet rays can cause skin cancer in humans as well as in other organisms. Ozone plays a key role in controlling the temperature structure of Earth.

Tropospheric Ozone layer is often called " Bad Ozone " as it comes in direct contact with the Earth's surface and displays its destructive side.
